Charles Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy offers classes for teens ages 10 to 15. As with the kids’ class, the teen’s class is structured to challenge students, whether progressing from the kids’ class or just starting out, to master the techniques and foster mutual welfare and respect. Teens do not only learn self-defense, but they learn the responsibility that accompanies having such skills and knowledge, and understand in which situations these techniques should be applied.

Teens are at a pivotal point in their physical and mental development, and there is no better time to reinforce these qualities, and no safer way to do so than through jiu-jitsu training.
Many of the teens who enroll in jiu-jitsu training do not excel in team sports at school or through recreational groups. Jiu-jitsu offers them an opportunity to receive equal or greater physical and mental training, while instilling within them important life skills.
Jiu-jitsu training can increase a student’s concentration, and this can easily be transferred to the classroom. Teens often report improved grades as a result of the increase in their concentration and study habits.
