The United Gracie Tournament will use a single elimination system. We will be using the same event management system we used during the last tournament. At the time of weigh-in you will receive a Match Queuing Card with your name, mat number, and match number for your first match. If you are the winner of your match the scoring table will issue you another card with the same information for your next match.


REGULATION INFORMATION:

1. All competitors must compete with a clean WHITE, BLUE, or all BLACK JIU-JITSU GI (kimono). No mixed colors or another GI colors will be allowed.

2. Any competitor who displays unsportman-like conduct before, during, or after the match, will be disqualified and forfeit the registration fee.

3. It is the competitor responsibility to find out when his / her match will take place.

4. Any competitor who does not show up before his/ her match will automatically forfeit the match and registration.

5. Any competitor who deliberately tries to hurt an opponent, (including slamming them while in the guard) will be disqualified.

6. The competition organizers are not liable for any injury and/or accident involving competitors. The competition will be properly insured.

7. Medical Staff will be on the premises to provide first aid as needed.

8. The International Federation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Confederation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and The Rio de Janeiro State Federation all will support this event.

9. We reserve the right to combine weight categories.

10. Each team shall appoint two referees to perform competition duties.

11. This information may be amended or changed at any time.

12. The athletes will not be allowed to apply traumatic holds; only competition sport Jiu-Jitsu holds will be permitted.

13. The Competitor Package will be distributed at weigh-in, it contains the following;
· Tournament T-shirt.
· Event entry tickets (with out which competitors will be unable to enter event)
· Match Queuing Card (this card will have your name, mat number, and match number for your first match).

14. Competition Scoring System:
· Throws and Takedowns - 2 points
· Knee on the Stomach - 2 point
· Sweep & Reverse from the Guard - 2 points
· Passing the Guard - 3 points
· Front Mount Position - 4 points
· Back Mount Position - 4 points

15. All competitors MUST bring a valid form of identification at the time of weigh-in.

This tournament will follow the official rules of the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF). These rules are designed to protect competitors and improve the level of Jiu-Jitsu competitions.
